Christian Louboutin's ~ REAL vs FAKE

Ok, I am called the Shoe Queen and I will wear that title proudly and with good honor.

 So, here's the story.
I got a FABULOUS pair of Christian Louboutin's from my adoring and smart husband for Christmas. After many requests on my YouTube Channel, I did a Christmas Haul video showing my lovely treasures.
One item was a much coveted pair of Christian Louboutin's.
(I had seen these on Housewives of Orange County and hinted like a madwoman what I wanted. Size, color, store, EVERYTHING)
Anyway, I had one of my wonderful subscribers message me to tell me they were FAKE?
Ha!

No Way! I saw a quickie trip to Reno Nevada for a divorce in my near future....
He would never buy me a fake.
Or Would he? Whaaaaaaah.
I had the receipt, the original box, the sleeper bag, and the shoes so off to Saks I went with my questionable shoes. Well, guess what? They WERE Fakes but my dear hubby was off the hook because even the store had been duped.
This is how they do it....
Seems a very conniving person buys a pair of Christian Louboutin shoes. They take the new shoes and the receipt out of the store.
No problems... Yet.
Then, in the meantime they have purchased a replica of the same shoe usually made in China or who knows where. They then take the FAKE shoes and the REAL receipt, box etc. into the store and exchange for the REAL shoes.
Some poor sucker like ME ends up with the FAKES and the criminal ends up with a
"Two for One" pair of Christian Louboutin Shoes.  Holiday time is notorious for these swindlers to get away with their creepy crimes.
This is NOT something I would try if I were you.
A quick trip to sit in the slammer with Lindsay Lohan? No Thanks! (Sorry LiLo)
(No matter how good Christian Louboutin shoes look, they can't make Prison Orange look Sexy or Stylish!)
Sak's 5th Avenue was so wonderful in taking back my FAKES and since they didn't have the coveted REAL shoes in my size, I got my money back and purchased the YoYo's instead. Sad but relieved. Imagine some poor soul that didn't have sharp, educated, YouTube Subscribers like I do? They would be walking around with inferior shoes and never know the difference except....
Here are the differences:
Yes, I stooped so low as to pay $97 for a FAKE pair to see and tell you the differences I could spot.

1st) The red sole is so dull and not nearly as vibrant as the REAL red sole created by Mr. Louboutin. He came up with this signature red sole when he was working in Paris and would see the Prostitutes working their beat on Montmartre and Pigalle Streets in the Meat Packing District, Paris.
At the end of the night, the soles of their hooker heels would be bright red from walking thru the blood.
Ugh. My Lunch just lurched.
Oh well now that I've made us both ill... I love his shoes but hate the FAKES.
2nd) The flap in the seam in the back. Can you tell the FAKE?
Which of These is Not Like The Others?
Look at the really poor quality workmanship on the FAKES.

See the ripples and bumps?
These have more lumps and bumps than my Cellulite Encrusted Butt!
Oh, Sorry. Too Graphic.

Lastly, and I can't show you a picture of this, is how they FEEL.
 They FEEL Horrible!
So hard and unforgiving. Kind of like the Nuns in my School when I was naughty but we won't go there....
Very uncomfortable.
Just put them on your feet and you can FEEL the FAKE!
I guess the old adage holds true.
"You Get What You Pay For."

  3. Having worked in retail FOREVER, I am not surprised..I heard about a woman receiving a return in fragrance only to open the box later and seeing a can of TUNA inside..After hearing that, before I even start a return I open a box to see what's inside.

  5. it really puts you off buying ANY designer stuff online... my fiance bought me some jimmy choos at xmas.. they are fabulous black leather with zips.. i think they're called "gladys" he paid less than a store price but you can buy them for hundreds less at other stores... it just worries me for future purchases ... how are you to know what's real? x

  6. Thanks for that video! I'm annoyed at how these people get away with that - worse the ones who purchase them. Women should buy what they can afford and not worry about trying to pretend they're something they're not.

I've travelled all over Asia and I see where the money from fakes is going. Think about it, 100$ is a 2 month salary for most poor people in Thailand/China. The drugdealers and criminals are all involved in this business as it raises a significant amount of money quickly, and it can cross borders. Therefore, money from fakes go to support criminal men who think prostituting children is cool.

Think about it twice before purchasing. Supporting your own industry in the western world OR supporting criminals abroad. Your call.

  7. Lana You are such a doll for doing this. Imagine someone like me never having owned designer shoes or handbags. Getting one of these fakes, thinking the fit was horriable and they didn't hold up worth a crap. I would think that designer stuff was garbage and not worth the dollars. You did a really nice thing teaching ppl like me who don't know better how to spot a fake.
Thank you so much! All my pennies, dollars and soda cans (at least it seems like it LOL) I am saving up for a pair of these lovely's thank you too!

  11. I am so sorry this happened to you, Lana. Didn't the exact same thing happen with a handbag of yours? :( Did Saks apologize for having done this to you twice?

It is really scary that things like this happen. Did Saks question you or anything? Or did they just know and replaced it for you?

  18. "christian louboutin said..."

That name, above, links out to another site selling FAKES.

    "bchristianlouboutin.com"

    That site sells FAKES.

The official site is at http://www.christianlouboutin.com/

Any other site with "Louboutin" as a part of the domain name is selling FAKES - as it says in a big notice on the official site.

  24. I love his shoes! I only own one pair (the Shelly in nude), but it is worth the price. These shoes have a tendency to stretch out towards the back of the heel, so I place a Happy Heel by Body and Sole Comfort either on my skin or in the shoe. If you do place them in the shoe, they will not damage the shoe if you decide to remove them - they are washable and reusable. www.bodyandsolecomfort.com

  28. Is the story of how Mr. Louboutin came about the idea of designing his shoes with RED soles. true? I have researched this intensively, and it always says that Mr. Louboutin does not disclose the reason behind his red-bottom creations. How did you find this out. It's quite interesting and makes sense. Just wondering if this story is validated or is it's something you saw or heard?
